Prithviraj Sukumaran lit up his birthday on October 16 with a cinematic surprise — the first teaser and poster for his upcoming Malayalam film, Khalifa. Taking to social media, he wrote: “A revenge forged by a lineage that spans generations! Next Onam… Aamir Ali will write his vengeance in gold!” The teaser introduces us to his character, Aamir Ali, stepping out of a smoke-filled battlefield, bloodied and burning with purpose. It’s a powerful glimpse into what promises to be a hard-hitting revenge thriller rooted in generational conflict and emotional grit.
Directed by Vysakh, Khalifa marks the duo’s first collaboration since the 2010 blockbuster Pokkiri Raja. That alone has fans buzzing, but this time, the scale seems even more ambitious. Written and produced by Jinu V Abraham, the film began shooting in London in July 2025, adding an international backdrop to a deeply personal vendetta story. With Jomon T John handling cinematography and Jakes Bejoy composing the score, the film brings together some of Malayalam cinema’s most reliable creative minds.
Joining Prithviraj on screen are action star Vidyut Jammwal and the legendary Sathyaraj, both of whom add serious weight to the cast. With such names in the mix, it’s clear that Khalifa is not just about revenge — it’s about legacy, spectacle, and the kind of layered storytelling that elevates action into something emotionally resonant. From the teaser alone, the atmosphere is thick with tension and drama, setting the tone for a grand cinematic experience.
Scheduled for release during Onam 2026, Khalifa is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Malayalam films in recent memory. The teaser doesn't rely on flashy gimmicks — instead, it leans into mood, menace, and mystery. And with Prithviraj portraying a character built on generations of pain and fury, Khalifa might just deliver a timeless tale of vengeance, honor, and power — written, as he promises, in gold.
